Ryan C. Sprowls

From the moment he opened his first brokerage account as a kid, Ryan was drawn to the world of investing. But what excites him even more than the numbers is the opportunity to help people—guiding them through life’s biggest financial decisions with clarity, strategy and a personal touch.

Ryan believes that sound investment planning is not driven by short-term gains or technical jargon, but by a foundation of education, discipline and long-term strategic vision. He believes his clients value not only his expertise in wealth management, but the assurance of working with a trusted advisor who offers a comprehensive and forward-looking perspective.

A Passion for Planning, a Commitment to Clients

Ryan earned his degree in Economics & Finance from Missouri Southern State University, where he served as President of the MSSU Investment Club and completed an internship at Franklin Financial Services. His financial career officially began when he secured his securities registrations while still in college. After graduating, he joined A.G. Edwards in St. Louis, where he honed his skills in investment strategy and client-focused advising.

In founding 114 Private Wealth, Ryan built a practice that reflects his deeply held values: personalized service, thoughtful strategy, and a commitment to always putting clients first.

Whether it’s retirement planning, estate strategies or investment management, Ryan’s goal is to ensure his clients understand their options and feel empowered to make informed decisions.

His favorite part of his job? The opportunity to help people. He firmly believes in the saying, “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.” For him, few things are more fulfilling than delivering meaningful value to families and witnessing the lasting impact of a thoughtfully executed investment plan.

A Commitment to Family and the Future

Ryan’s wife, Maysoon, is a global marketing director, and their daughter, Bryanna, is a firefighter and business owner—something Ryan is incredibly proud of.

He is also passionate about giving back, particularly through the Ryan C. Sprowls Fast Track to Finance Scholarship at his Alma Mater, which supports finance students and track athletes. He remains an active mentor to young professionals and supports organizations like the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the National MS Society.

Ryan C. Bortner

Managing Principal & COO

Experience

Ryan is the Managing Principal and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of 114 Private Wealth. He is responsible for executing 114 Private Wealth’s organizational and growth strategies, implementing the vision for geographic expansion, as well as working to protect the practice and the clients by aiming to mitigate risk as the registered principal. As a financial advisor, Ryan prioritizes relationship building with his clients, getting to know them on a personal level to better understand their goals and objectives, and working with them to maintain a disciplined approach through cycles of market volatility. Ryan was awarded the Five Star Wealth Manager Award* in 2024.

Prior to joining 114 Private Wealth, Ryan worked in the wealth management industry for 18 years, and in banking for another 7 years, serving at Capital One, Wachovia Securities, and Wells Fargo Advisors. During his tenure with Wells Fargo Advisors, Ryan held multiple leadership roles in their Home Office locations in Richmond, Virginia, and St. Louis, Missouri, before moving to the field as the Associate Market Manager for the Pittsburgh Major Market in 2014. In 2017, Ryan became the branch manager of the Alexandria, Virginia office, where he managed 40 financial professionals. In 2020, he was awarded the coveted Platinum Council Manager award, due to the strong accomplishments of the branch.

Activities & Charities

Ryan is a graduate of James Madison University. Today, he resides in Fairfax Station, Virginia, with his wife Kristen, his children, Avery and Reed, and their dog, Buddy. When Ryan’s not in the office, he is usually found on a pool deck, volunteering as a swim official for the Colonial Swim League and the Potomac Valley Swim League. He also volunteers at his church and around his community.

Tracy M. Hoben-Shelkin

Director of Client Experience

Experience

Tracy Hoben-Shelkin has over 25 years of financial services experience. She is a seasoned professional who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role and a strong passion for helping clients achieve their financial goals. Her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence have been evident throughout her career. From 2012 through 2018, she was repeatedly recognized as one of the Wells Fargo Advisors Platinum Council Client Associates* based on exemplary service and professionalism. She holds the Series 63, 66 and 7 securities registrations.

Activities & Charities

A native of Alexandria, Tracy earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from George Mason University. She is an advocate for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Away from the office, she enjoys traveling to watch her son play college baseball and her daughter's competitive dancing.

Chuck Markson

Executive Vice President-Wealth Advisor

Charles "Chuck" Markson has dedicated the last 35 years to helping his clients navigate the shifting financial markets to reach their wealth management goals. His mission is to provide every client with targeted, comprehensive financial advice and portfolio management - delivered with the highest level of personal service and professional integrity.

Chuck believes it takes careful planning to help ensure your wealth continues to work in support of your goals. As such, this planning is not a single event but a constant process of adaption. Chuck works continually with his clients to update their investment strategies as the market and life circumstances change. He helps clients stay current with regulatory and legal changes and uses investment planning strategies to help preserve their wealth - now and for generations to come.

Chuck has been recognized on the Wells Fargo Advisors Platinum Council in 2016, 2017, 2020, 2021 and 2022. The Platinum Council distinction is held by a select group of Financial Advisors within Wells Fargo Advisors as measured by one or more of the following: completion of educational components, business production from the previous year, and professionalism. Additional consideration may have included best practices and team structure.

Activities & Charities

Residing just south of Old Town Alexandria, Chuck, his wife Linda and their two children enjoy every aspect of living in the thriving suburbs of the Washington D.C, metropolitan area. He coached soccer for over 25 years with the local community sports clubs before retiring to the golf courses of Northern Virginia. As an active member of the Mount Vernon Golf Club, he hopes to enjoy the game of golf for many years to come.

Andy Strobel

Executive Vice President-Wealth Advisor

Experience

Andy Strobel is an Executive Vice President and Wealth Advisor at 114 Private Wealth. For over 34 years he has helped guide his clients toward building and preserving their wealth while focusing on creating genuine long-term relationships.

Employing a consultative process, Andy conducts in-depth discussions to help understand and evaluate the unique goals, values, and circumstances of each client. Through his thoughtful and collaborative approach, he can implement a broad range of planning services paired with personalized investment strategies while also fostering enduring and authentic connections with clients and their families. Andy proactively works with other professionals involved in his clients’ lives, such as CPAs and estate attorneys, which helps him gain additional insight regarding portfolio management.

In his spare time, Andy enjoys educating younger generations on the value of personal financial responsibility. He also stays active in wildlife conservation efforts and is an avid hiker as well as an accomplished nature photographer.

Jon Ustun

Senior Vice President-Wealth Advisor

Experience

For nearly 30 years, Jon Ustun has enjoyed working closely with his clients to develop customized investment strategies to help them achieve their goals and to support the causes they are passionate about. Jon prioritizes client comfort and confidence in the investment plans, emphasizing education and transparency throughout the investment process.

As a PIM Portfolio Manager, Jon employs a holistic approach to wealth management, conducting thorough discovery sessions to identify focus areas such as retirement planning, philanthropy, and estate planning strategies. He often specializes in dividend growth balanced strategies utilizing quantitative tools and stop-loss disciplines when appropriate. His commitment to his clients helps ensure they are well-informed and empowered to make decisions that align with their financial goals.

Prior to specializing in the financial field, Jon taught elementary school for nine years and enjoyed every minute of it. Previously, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Maryland and a certification in Education from George Washington University.

Jon has been married for over 30 years and is the proud father of two wonderful daughters. He is a current member, and former president, of the Optimist Club of Alexandria. When he isn’t coaching elementary and middle school soccer and basketball, he enjoys hiking, camping and training his Red Heeler, River.

Philip P. Bartilucci

Phil graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Business. He has over 10 years of wealth management experience and holds the Series 7 and 66 securities registrations and life, health, and variable insurance licenses. Phil has also earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification.

Phil resides in Alexandria, VA and enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring the outdoors and national monuments around Washington, D.C., and playing golf.

Roxy Rodriguez

Roxy joined 114 Private Wealth in 2017. With over 10 years of experience in the financial industry, she focuses on complex, detail-oriented projects and providing a superior client experience. She in particular enjoys working on investment plans for high-net-worth and multi-generational clients.

Alyssa Romanac

Alyssa joined Wells Fargo & Company in 2014 as a Personal Banker. With both banking and investment experience, Alyssa’s goal is to build long term client relationships based on trust and providing top-notch service.

Born and raised in the horse capital of the world, Ocala, FL, Alyssa spent summers tending to the horses on the family farm. In her free time, she continues to enjoy riding horses and outdoor sports.
